Elsewhere on the web, I replied to someone who lacks depth or is wearing a mask. This really is about gatekeepers, doormen, firewalls, and exclusion on a level deeper than often perceived.
Wow, that is a long reply, and filled with so many misconceptions. Perhaps you should consider reading the other posts on this thread. Excluding STEM, much of higher education IS a money making scam and many Marxist-Champagne Socialist Professors and Administrators will do anything to keep the money coming in and advance their political agenda. Even within the institutions they show a psychotic will to power. In the States Leftist Professors out number conservatives 22 to 1. Your son is bright and made good choices. He is not likely to have take a class named "The films of Woody Allen" or "BDSM Liberation Theory." I note that he is a biology major and likely can distinguish male from female procreative parts, as well as, restroom designations. With regard to CRT and Howard Zinnnn's fasehoods coupled to antiAmerican propaganda it really has been implemented in most pervasive and profound ways than you are aware of. It is part of the over all paradigm at this point. For some reason I am reminded of the big uproar at Yale regarding Halloween costumes and then thuggery at Mizzou. Yet, monsters like Northam seldom seem to resign. I would suggest you develop a deeper and more balanced understanding - situational awareness. BTW, as a note, when I took the MCAT in the early 90s, I scored very very very well. I was accepted to medical schools, but chose to do something different. One thing I do remember. The essay portion of the exam was horribly political and about nothing being worth fighting for. Call it a "Wokeshevik" trap. I experienced something similar in a job interview once and passed that too. Curiously, I even scored very high on the SAT Poly Sci Subject Test by saying to myself "what answer would a Socialist want because a Socialist clearly designed this biased and warped test in an effort to make some point and select against those who disagreed with them. Look, your type of "slightly short of Leftist" or simply "progressive" perspective pretending to be moderate is nothing new, and your opinion has a degree of merit. In many ways, I am again reminded that the slow slide Left started a long time ago, and many people do not realize how far they have traveled. I believe it was around 1992 when Penn State issued an official memo stating that the word "individual" was a "red flag" term and not to be used. Not too long after that the book "Illiberal Education" was published. Having a BS in Bio, Chem, and Gov, as well as, a Masters in Policy, and having both published and taught, I can say it is unfortunate that Leftist propaganda has wormed its way into STEM fields to a degree, but that is nothing new. What is the new crisis others are trying to exploit, heat, cold, fuel, population, etc.? The Nazis and Soviets did that too. Your son may someday be "red pilled" and your daughter find balance also, as I am sure they both will test what they were taught and find where the truth is. Maintaining friendships with those they disagree with and reviewing what they say also, is important for that reason Such is the difference between being an ideologue and being a real person. Decent people all make that journey. Happy New Year.
